Changing to LED is will reduce you electricity consumption

LED Lighting

Using the correct LED bulbs can save up to 90% on your lighting costs and reduce your backup power requirements significantly.

Having spent a decade saying ‘energy saver’ instead of ‘fluorescent bulb’ it is difficult to relearn that the new LEDs use even less power as well as being better for you.

Health and Environmental Benefits

Lots of us do not know that Energy Saver / fluorescent bulbs are considered as a health risk to many. They produced ultra violet light, converted to visible light with the white coating on the glass. Prolonged expose could damage skin and there are other suggested side effects such as Seasonal Affect Disorder (SAD) in many people. Combine that with migraines and vertigo issues many people suffer from, it’s not surprising to find out that they also contain mercury!

Worth It?

Yes! LED bulbs offer considerable electricity savings and also last 2 to 5 times longer than fluorescents and 10 to 50 times longer tan the old incandescent bulbs. They are better for you, better for the environment and are easy to replace your current with new.

The chart above shows just how much more you can get out of a backup power system if you update your light bulbs. This is always recommended as it will be much cheaper and easier to put all of the house lights on to the inverter, via the DB Board, than to try and isolate certain plugs and lights in the house. Better spend the money on upgrading the light bulbs than on an electrician’s time.
